3319 KISSA
Oakland, CA
In development
A spatial concept developed for a matcha café and listening space within a retail environment.
3319 Kissa is a café concept currently in development, defined by ritual, sound, and material clarity.
Set within 3319 Marché, the project reinterprets traditional kissaten culture through a minimal spatial approach. A long, low bar anchors the layout, establishing a slower, more intentional rhythm.
Materials — wood, ceramic, and linen — have been selected to create a quiet, consistent language, allowing subtle variation and imperfection to remain.
Sound is being integrated into the architecture, present but never dominant, contributing to the overall pace rather than competing with it.
The experience is designed to feel calm, precise, and unhurried — prioritizing continuity over novelty and encouraging repeated use.
A quiet moment of preparation, where pace and material guide the experience.
Measured, deliberate, and unhurried.
Audio is integrated into the environment to support pace, focus, and continuity within the space.
Materials and service are designed to feel consistent, tactile, and unforced.
The project balances atmosphere and function through pace, sound, material, and repeated ritual.
